Dublin city wedding photography & film

Dublin city.
Your kind of wedding.

Good clothes. Your favourite people. A city that keeps moving.

Well dressed. Completely yourselves.

A wedding in the city.
Time to enjoy it.

We photograph and film Dublin city weddings, from ceremonies at City Hall to dinner and dancing in the city’s restaurants and hotels. The clothes, the architecture and the table you spent ages choosing matter. So do the people around it.

You can care about how your wedding looks and still want to spend it having a good time. That suits us. We’ll find the light, give you a little direction when it helps, and keep the photographs from taking over.

After more than 1,000 weddings, we know when to step in and when to leave a moment alone. A few portraits with a bit of an editorial eye. Family photographs without a long roll call. Then back to everyone.

Dublin City Hall wedding photography

Dublin City Hall.
And everyone in it.

The dome, the columns, the sound of your friends arriving. City Hall has a sense of occasion before the ceremony even starts. We photograph the scale of the Rotunda and the small exchanges happening underneath it.

These are real Bokeh weddings at Dublin City Hall. Different couples, different seasons, the same feeling of stepping out into the city just married.

Making time for the city.

We plan around the time you have booked at City Hall. A few family photographs while everyone is together, a short wander nearby, and on to the reception. Parliament Street and the streets around Dublin Castle give us character without a long detour.

City Hall hosts wedding ceremonies, with any post-ceremony drinks arrangements agreed directly with the venue. Your dinner and evening reception happen elsewhere. We’ll work out a photo route that makes sense for the day you have planned.

Dublin, as it is

Out the door.
Into the day.

A passing bus, a familiar street, someone calling congratulations. You don’t have to clear the city out of the photographs. It’s part of why you chose it.

The city moves.
So should the memories.

The voices, the movement and the people in between. Two Dublin wedding trailers, made with the same attention to the day as our photographs.

Dublin city centre wedding venues

Where the day
takes you next.

A restaurant full of friends. A Georgian hotel. A ceremony on St Stephen’s Green. These are some of the Dublin places we photograph, each with its own pace and atmosphere.

Fallon & Byrne

For a wedding centred on good food and the people around the table, Fallon & Byrne brings the celebration into the middle of town. We keep the photography close to the day: the arrival, the conversations and a short portrait walk before you settle in with your guests.

The Merrion Hotel

The Merrion’s Georgian setting suits a city wedding with a quieter, elegant feel. We look for window light, the way the rooms frame people, and the relaxed moments between the formal parts of the day. Your photographs can feel polished without your afternoon feeling managed.

The Shelbourne Hotel

A wedding at The Shelbourne puts you on St Stephen’s Green, with the city outside and the celebrations inside. We plan any portraits around your ceremony, reception and the light on the day, keeping the focus on you and your guests.

Dublin Unitarian Church

The Unitarian Church on St Stephen’s Green offers a central setting for your ceremony. We photograph quietly, within the church’s arrangements, and plan the journey to your reception with you. Confirm ceremony availability and requirements directly with the church.

Somewhere else in the city?

A favourite restaurant, a small hotel or somewhere that means something to you: tell us. The best route is the one that fits your wedding. We’ll help you leave enough time for the photographs and plenty of time for the people you invited.

Planning a Dublin city wedding

A few useful things.

Have you photographed weddings at Dublin City Hall before?

Yes. The photographs here include City Hall weddings with Claire & David, Laoise & Ultan, Sayeda & Aaron, and Hannah & Ciaran. We know how to work with the Rotunda’s light, the ceremony and the streets outside while keeping the day moving.

Can we have a City Hall ceremony and a reception somewhere else in Dublin?

Yes. City Hall is a ceremony venue, so your dinner and evening celebrations take place elsewhere. Some couples keep everything close together with a city-centre restaurant or hotel. We plan the photographs around your ceremony booking, travel and reception timings. Confirm your access and any drinks reception arrangements directly with City Hall.

Where can we take wedding photographs near City Hall?

City Hall itself, the surrounding streets and the area around Dublin Castle give us plenty to work with. We choose a short route that suits the light, weather and where you are heading next. Any access or permission requirements are checked in advance; we do not need to turn the afternoon into a tour of photo locations.

Do you photograph weddings at Fallon & Byrne, The Merrion and The Shelbourne?

Yes. We photograph Dublin city weddings across restaurants and hotels, including Fallon & Byrne, The Merrion and The Shelbourne, as well as ceremonies at the Unitarian Church. Tell us where each part of your day is happening so we can suggest a sensible plan for photography and film.

We love editorial photographs but feel awkward in front of a camera. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We use good light and simple direction when it helps, then give you space to be yourselves. A short walk together is often all we need. Most of the day is photographed as it happens, with your guests rather than away from them.

What happens if it rains on our Dublin wedding day?

We plan an indoor option around your booked venues and keep the outdoor route flexible. City Hall’s interior offers plenty of photographic interest during your agreed access time. We will not send you on a long walk across town just to tick off a location.

Can we book wedding photography and video together?

Yes. Bokeh offers photography and film together, with coverage options to dinner call or first dance. Film collections include a one-minute trailer, a three-to-five-minute highlight and a feature film with the ceremony and speeches covered. With dinner-call coverage, speeches are included only when they happen before dinner. See our collections and current prices.

Do you offer shorter coverage for a small Dublin city wedding?

Yes. Bespoke photography or videography is €450 per hour with a minimum booking of 3 hours and no physical deliverables. Photography includes an edited gallery and slideshow; film deliverables are agreed at booking around the hours and what you want to keep. Send us your date and plans and we’ll talk through what fits.
