County Clare · Weddings with Bokeh
The Armada Hotel.
Wedding photography & film. The Atlantic on your doorstep and a party that runs till sunset and beyond.

Life by the sea
Salt air. Your people.
The Armada Hotel sits right on the seafront at Spanish Point in County Clare. These are photographs and films from weddings we’ve covered here, with the morning, the ceremony, the coast and the long evening kept together.
It’s a place where the weather is part of the story. Veils catch the wind, shoes come off on the beach, and the sunset turns up just as the party gets going. Those are the bits we look for.
We’ll make time for a walk on the rocks or through the dunes, and the family photographs that matter. Then we’ll get you back to the people you came to celebrate with.

The sea all day.

Ellen & Neil · The trailer
Sparklers out.
Back in the moment.
Ellen & Neil’s trailer brings you into their Armada wedding, from a nervous first look to the speeches, the sunset on the rocks and a sparkler send-off.
A short wander. A lot of sky.
Room to be yourselves.
Rocks, dunes and a beach on the doorstep. A little time together, then straight back into the day.

Your people
Everyone close. Nobody in a hurry.
Champagne outside, a toast at the bar and the whole crowd chasing the sunset.

From the hotel to the shore
Leave time for
the coast.
The Armada works best when the day has room to breathe. Tell us how you’d like the time after your ceremony to feel. Build in the congratulations, a drink with your guests and the family photographs, and we’ll help you fit those moments together before the day.
The rocks, the beach and the dunes are all close by, but you don’t need to fit every one into your portraits. We’ll keep an eye on the wind, the tide and the light, and if you’d like sunset photographs, we’ll plan a few quiet minutes away from dinner to catch them.
Planning your Armada Hotel wedding
A few useful things.
Have you photographed weddings at the Armada Hotel before?
Yes. Bokeh Photography & Film has photographed and filmed weddings at the Armada Hotel, including Stacey & Keith, Ellen & Neil, Jennie & Cillian, and Alison & Ross. You can also see Alison and Ross’s full wedding story.
Where are ceremonies held at the Armada?
Couples marry at the hotel itself or in a local church before coming back to the Armada to celebrate. Your venue coordinator can confirm the options for your date.
Where can we take couple photographs?
The rocks in front of the hotel, the beach and the dunes all give us options. We’ll work with the light and weather on your day, and keep things close enough that you’re not missing the whole drinks reception.
Can we have sunset photographs on the beach?
Often, yes. The rocks, the beach and the dunes are right on the doorstep, and if you’d like sunset photographs we’ll plan a few quiet minutes away from dinner to catch them. We’ll keep an eye on the wind, the tide and the light on the day.
What if it’s windy or wet?
On the West Clare coast, it often is, and some of our favourite photographs here have the wind in them. If the weather really turns, we’ll use the doorways, the bar and the big windows looking out to sea.
