County Meath · Weddings with Bokeh
Tankardstown House.
Wedding photography & film. Open fires, walled gardens and an Orangery made for dancing.

Grand, but never stiff
Dress up. Settle in.
Tankardstown House is an 18th-century manor house near Slane in County Meath. These are photographs and a film from weddings we’ve covered here, with the morning, the gardens and the celebrations kept together.
It’s a house built for a party. Drinks by the fire, a wander out to the walled garden, and an Orangery that fills up as the evening goes on. Even a downpour can’t dampen it: some of our favourite frames here were made under umbrellas.
We’ll make time for a walk together and the family photographs that matter. Then we’ll get you back to the people you came to celebrate with.

Rain or shine.
Always a celebration.
Photographs from Hannah & Rob and Leona & Edd. Two very different days, the same house full of life.

Hannah & Rob · The trailer
Arms up.
Back in the moment.
Hannah & Rob’s trailer brings you into their Tankardstown wedding, from the lads in the garden to a grand entrance, the first dance and the celebrations around it.
A short wander. A little quiet.
Room to be yourselves.
Wisteria, garden paths and old stone walls. A little time together, then straight back into the day.

From the house to the walled garden
Leave time to
wander.
Tankardstown works best when the day has room to breathe. Tell us how you’d like the time after your ceremony to feel. Build in the congratulations, a drink by the fire and the family photographs, and we’ll help you fit those moments together before the day.
The walled garden, the wisteria and the grounds give us plenty of settings, but you don’t need to fit every one into your portraits. We’ll suggest a short walk around the light and weather, and if the rain comes, we’ll make the most of it. For a winter date or a later ceremony, bring us into the conversation early so there’s room for photographs while it’s light.

Planning your Tankardstown House wedding
A few useful things.
Have you photographed weddings at Tankardstown House before?
Yes. Bokeh Photography & Film has photographed and filmed weddings at Tankardstown House, including Hannah & Rob and Leona & Edd, whose photographs and films are on this page.
Where are ceremonies held at Tankardstown?
In the light-filled Orangery, or outdoors in the Walled Garden. Both are beautiful to photograph, and we follow the ceremony quietly, with an eye on the reactions of the people around you.
Where can we take couple photographs?
The walled garden, the wisteria, the garden paths and the front of the house all give us options. We’ll work with the light and weather on your day, and keep things close enough that you’re not missing the whole drinks reception.
How does the evening work in the Orangery?
After drinks by the open fires in the drawing rooms, dinner and dancing happen back in the Orangery. It fills up as the evening goes on, and with first-dance coverage we stay until a couple of songs after your first dance.
What if it rains?
We’ll keep working. Umbrellas, doorways, the drawing rooms and the Orangery all give us beautiful options, and some of our favourite Tankardstown photographs were made in the rain.
