Mount Druid.

Wedding photography & film. A tin chapel in the pines, a lake and a party that runs late.

Off the beaten track

Wander off. Come back to the party.

Mount Druid is a private parkland estate near Castletown Geoghegan in County Westmeath. These are photographs and a film from weddings we’ve covered here, with the morning, the Tin Chapel and the long evening kept together.

It’s a place with plenty of character and nothing too precious about it. Dresses hang from old rafters, the ceremony happens among the trees, and the bar fills up as the speeches start. Those are the bits we look for.

We’ll make time for a walk together and the family photographs that matter. Then we’ll get you back to the people you came to celebrate with.

A 100-acre parkland estate at Castletown Geoghegan, run by the Murphy family since 2005. The Tin Chapel among the pines, the Boathouse by the lake and the converted Barn give each part of the day its own setting.

A short wander. A little quiet.

Room to be yourselves.

Meadows, garden paths and a deck by the lake. A little time together, then straight back into the day.

Your people

Everyone close. Nobody in a hurry.

Friends on the morning, speeches under the chandeliers and drinks at the bar.

Mount Druid works best when the day has room to breathe. Tell us how you’d like the time after your ceremony to feel. Build in the congratulations, a drink by the lake and the family photographs, and we’ll help you fit those moments together before the day.

The woodland, meadows, lake and gardens give us plenty of settings, but you don’t need to fit every one into your portraits. We’ll suggest a short walk around the light and weather. For a winter date or a later ceremony, bring us into the conversation early so there’s room for photographs while it’s light.

Planning your Mount Druid wedding

A few useful things.

Have you photographed weddings at Mount Druid before?

Yes. Bokeh Photography & Film has photographed and filmed weddings at Mount Druid, including Kate & Bud, Joanne & Carl, Silvia & Paul, Sorcha & Simon, Molly & Cameron, and Laura & Andrew.

What is the Tin Chapel like to photograph?

It’s an intimate space with a timber ceiling and plenty of character. We photograph what happens as it happens, including the reactions of the people sitting around you. Your venue coordinator can confirm the ceremony options for your date.

Where can we take couple photographs?

The Tin Chapel doorway, the woodland, the meadows and the deck by the lake all give us options. We’ll work with the light and weather on your day, and keep things close enough that you’re not missing the whole drinks reception.

What’s Mount Druid like in different seasons?

In summer, the meadows, the lake and the long evenings give you plenty of time outside. In autumn and winter, the woodland colours and the Barn come into their own. Talk to us about daylight before your timings are fixed.
